As we spend this day remembering all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and all those who continue to be willing to. I want to send out a HUGE thank you to all of you men and women in the Military. Because of your heroic commitments we get to sleep a little better each night. I am a Marine Mom and I can tell you, it isn’t easy to have your child out there willing to make that sacrifice. I recall his deployment and the letter he had sent me just in case something happened. “Mom, this is the path I have chosen and good or bad, I need you to respect the decision I made”. It still brings tears to my eyes, I am one of the fortunate ones who has had their child returned to US soil alive. It may seem like it is all great, but the scars that are forever imbedded in my child will never be forgotten. Watching him try to cope with all of those he has loved and lost is such a devastating site. When you see a Military member, today or any day, just remember that although they are here with us does not mean that they are okay. These men and women see stuff that we could never imagine and when you divide the amount of pay by the hours they put in, these men and women work for our freedom and safety. The amount of money they make wouldn’t meet minimum wage in any state. Thank you to all of you brave military men and women. You all deserve a medal in my book.
